How would you define yourself and the work you do?
I would define myself as a passionate lover for electronic music and the underground culture.
Being someone who is drawn to Hard Techno music i would say i create concepts, branding, and experiences for mostly Hard Techno events in my island.
How did TECHN9NT come to life? Was there a core idea or vision you strongly believed in at the beginning?
TECHN9NT was the official company to introduce Hard Techno music style on the island of Mauritius.
The vision to start TECHN9NT was to share the passion i have for Hard Techno music with other people on the island, create a safe space where people would come together and be united by the same energy by doing events.
What is it like to build an underground scene in a place like Mauritius? What are the advantages and challenges?
It was quite challenging at first people have never attended a Hard Techno event before. They are more used to the minimal Techno/ Psytech and Psytrance music here, on the island.
So it was a bit difficult to make them give it a chance. But they are curious also and want to learn more about this underground music that is taking over nowadays.
What does the phrase mean to you personally?
The phrase; “When the island sleeps, the underground rises” means that the real energy begins a night.
Music, freedom and self expression emerge in the darkness.
Compared to last year, can we expect more shows this year? Any surprises to share, and will TECHN9NT continue supporting artists who lack stage opportunities?
We might but I am currently taking a little break as i am myself learning more about the music.
I want to give people the best experience at my events even though we are a very small community here so i decided to learn about the art of DJing this will be the upcoming surprise.
Yes of course, as TECHN9NT grows we remain committed to supporting emerging artists and giving them a platform to share their sound with the community. I believe the underground grows by giving new talent a chance to be seen, heard, and appreciated.
What kind of community do you aim to build with TECHN9NT and how do you want people to feel when they come together?
With TECHN9NT;
I aim to build a community united by a genuine passion for underground music a safe space where people feel accepted regardless of their background, experience, or status.
What has been the most impactful moment in your journey so far? A night, a set, or a backstage memory?
ISTANBUL
I started my journey in Istanbul at the underground parties which was being held at Kağıthane.
It is the only place that i feel happy and free so each time i have attended an event there, it has always been a wonderful experience for me.
This is the only thing that i can think about.
This is where everything started for me.
From a global perspective, which regions do you see as having the most potential in the techno scene? Which emerging scenes are growing the fastest today?
I think it would be India; There's a massive population over there and thus an increasing demand for electronic music events.
Verknipt did their first show in India last year in 2025, and since then there has been more and more international artists that has been touring India than the years before, especially for the harder genres such as Hard Techno, Industrial and Peak Time Techno.
